Happy New Year!

Hello friends and readers!

I can’t believe we’re coming into another new year. It seems like 2015 was on a distant horizon not long ago. I remember thinking as a teenager how futuristic that date sounded and half expected cars to be flying by now. Although I’m a little disappointed that we aren’t zipping around the skies like the Jetsons, technology certainly has come a long way. I never imagined my phone would be like a computer or that I’d be reading books on an electronic device, able to download hundreds and have an entire library at my fingertips any time. Or that I’d be able to publish my own stories!

Indie publishing has been a wild ride for me, fraught with plenty of ups and downs over the past three years. As technology grows and more and more people enter the arena of self-publishing, this business becomes increasingly difficult. Sales have dropped dramatically this past year for many of us–both traditionally published and indie–due to the overwhelming number of new books coming to the market. New technologies vying for consumer attention continue to change the landscape of how we spend our time, focus our attentions, and what we read every day.

I’m honored that among the millions of books now available to readers, that anyone would choose one of mine to add to their library of books, whether it be to their Kindle, Nook, iPad, or home book shelf. THANK YOU for your support, your encouragement through your wonderful reviews, and for making my dream of sharing my stories come true!

As is my nature, regardless of the trials, I’m looking forward to exciting new adventures in 2015. I even have a non-fiction project already in the works for the first quarter of the year.

As a massage therapist, personal trainer, and yoga instructor, I’m especially attuned to the fact that the technological changes in our world are having an astounding effect on our human bodies. I go to writer’s conferences and workshops, and see the chronic pain and debilitating health issues facing people who spend hours a day at their computers. My cohorts will  tell you that my hands seem to find their way to the necks and tight shoulders of attendees at random. I can’t help myself! I hate to see people in pain when I can do something about it. I often dole out advice on exercise or lifestyle changes that might help lessen their suffering, but I wanted to do more…to reach more people in need. Thus, the idea was born!

SELF CARE and ERGONOMICS for WRITERS  will be a practical guide to proper workstation set up, preventative exercises, and self-care tips to ensure longevity in your writing career. But this won’t be for writers only. Students, avid readers, corporate desk jockeys, and couch potatoes of all kinds will hopefully benefit. Since I–and my hands–can’t be everywhere, this book will be the next best thing. I’ll keep you up to date on my progress.

PJSharon_HealingWaters_HRNo worries for those of you who need a fiction fix! I do have several ideas for new book projects as well, but haven’t nailed down a production schedule just yet. I’ll be sure to let you know what’s coming up.

In the meantime, I hope you’re enjoying my latest release, HEALING WATERS, the third and final book in the Chronicles of Lily Carmichael Trilogy. I’ll miss Lily and Will and those rambunctious wolves, Bo and Pappy, but I’m also excited to hear about how you liked the way the journey ended. Your feedback and reviews are always welcome. Although the trilogy is currently only available at Amazon, I’ll be expanding my distribution of WANING MOON and WESTERN DESERT to Nook, Kobo, and iBooks later this month, and HEALING WATERS will follow in March.

Also, if you’ve missed any of my contemporary YA novels, I’ve bundled them into one box set for you, and included a Christmas novella to boot! The GIRLS of THOMPSON LAKE Box Set includes HEAVEN is for HEROES, ON THIN ICE, and PIECES of LOVE, along with SAMI’s CHRISTMAS WISH LIST, a novella that brings all the characters from the three books together in one heartwarming holiday story. I hope you’ll pick it up or gift a copy to a friend. You can read the first chapter of the novella on Wattpad

I hear time and again from readers that these stories are not only for teens, but that anyone who enjoys a sweet romance or family drama will love them. If you like Hallmark or Lifetime movies, or enjoy Nicholas Sparks novels, these books are for you! Three full length novels and a novella for only $3.99! So that’s what I’ll be up to for January! Setting up my production schedule, reworking my marketing plan, and deciding which new projects get top priority. It’s going to be another busy year, but I’m looking forward to connecting with new readers, spending time with family and friends, and writing, writing, writing!

What fun things do you have planned for this year?

Wherever your travels take you, don’t forget to bring along a good book you can sink your teeth into. Eating a good book

Peace and blessings to you all in 2015!
